Blog Assignment 2:
The Constitution in my views is stronger than the Articles of Confederation because, the Constitution is a document or set of documents that establish the basic rules and procedures for how society shall be governed and the articles of confederation was just the initial governing of authority for some few seven years. The Articles of Confederation also made governing very difficult. Many of the deficiencies, which are limiting powers, and having no judicial branch, led to predicable problems.
The Legislative Branch: consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, together these two form the United States Congress.
The Executive Branch: consists of the President of the United States, who is responsible for enforcing the laws passed by Congress.
The Judicial Branch: consists of people who are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
Marbury v. Madison:
This case was very important the question that seems to arise is does Congress have the authority to expand the Supreme Court's original jurisdiction beyond that granted by the Constitution? If this was passed Congress would be able to do as they please in my eyes which isn't right. The rules that were set in the Constitution were set and they are not to be broken to change something for one person. We should all have to abide by these set rules and procedures of how society should be governed no matter who we are. This is why I am very glad that the outcome was no.
I also agree that the Congress shouldn't be able to do what ever they want to do. It's definitely true that everybody needs to follow the same set of rules. I never thought that a certain person should have special privileges over other people, it just isn't right.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I don't believe that The Constitution should be changed and I don't think that one political group of people should be able to make such drastic, on the spot decisions or alter The Constitution for one specific case.
